I have always enjoyed being out doors, and photography has taught me to focus on my surroundings in a different manner. Photography allows me to share with others some of the ways I see nature.
Wild flowers attract my camera since they compete for attention with their bright colors or unique shapes. More recently I have been pursuing the white-tailed ptarmigan. Finding the elusive ptarmigan requires hiking or snowshoeing in the alpine. There is something special about being in the high tundra near the only bird that stays in the alpine year around. While photographing wildflowers and ptarmigan, natural patterns and abstractions will often catch my eye.
